I’m sorry you’re here, but I’m glad you found us. You’re not alone in navigating the cancer care journey. Toby’s Hope exists to offer compassion, community, and support — to make this experience a little less painful and a lot more hopeful.
In June 2023, my world changed when my soul dog, Toby, was diagnosed with canine lymphoma. The fear, confusion, and isolation that followed were overwhelming. Weekly oncology visits, constant worry about side effects, and endless efforts to get him to eat became our new normal. I often cried in secret — the weight of caregiving, the fear of losing him, and the loneliness were heavy.
Through therapy and self-care, I learned to balance caring for Toby and caring for myself. I discovered something I hadn’t known before: the deep grief that begins before loss — and the strength that comes from love. Over time, Toby responded beautifully to treatment and achieved remission. He lived for 2 years with cancer before passing away peacefully at home on August 24, 2025.
But gratitude wasn’t enough. I wanted to help others walking this same path — those facing the fear, financial strain, and emotional toll of a pet’s cancer diagnosis. That’s how Toby’s Hope for Canine Cancer Care was born.
Our mission is to provide financial assistance for lymphoma treatment (in Washington State) and to offer resources, counseling, and community support for pet owners navigating this difficult journey. We aim to walk alongside families from diagnosis to end of life — because no one should have to face cancer alone.
Toby’s spirit and resilience inspire everything we do. His legacy lives on through every family we help, every story we hear, and every moment of hope we share.
