Tails of Resilience Support Group: An Interview with Suman Kamath on Arc Seattle

At Toby’s Hope, our mission is clear: no pet should face a life-threatening illness without support, and no pet parent should navigate the journey alone. Recently, our founder, Suman Kamath, sat down for an insightful interview with Arc Seattle to discuss Tails of Resilience, our support group in partnership with PEER Seattle.

Tails of Resilience is available every Thursday at PEER Seattle, 1520 Bellevue Ave, Seattle from 7-8pm PST.

Bringing Awareness to Tails of Resilience

The interview focused on how Toby’s Hope is offering caretaker support through the creation of a support group (Tails of Resilience) targeted at parents of sick pets. Suman shared the deeply personal story that led to the founding of Toby’s Hope, highlighting the challenges pet parents face when confronted with a devastating diagnosis, including stress, anxiety, and isolation.

Support Beyond Financial Assistance

During the conversation, Suman emphasized that Toby’s Hope is more than just financial aid. We partner with Peer Seattle to offer a dedicated support group for pet caretakers, ensuring they have a safe space to share their experiences, seek guidance, and find emotional support. The group helps create a sense of community and understanding among pet parents who are facing similar struggles.

The High Cost of Treatment

Another key topic discussed was the financial burden of canine cancer treatments. The cost of diagnosis and ongoing care can be overwhelming, making it difficult for families to provide the best possible treatment for their beloved pets. Toby’s Hope strives to alleviate this burden by offering financial assistance for lymphoma .
