Tails of Resilience: A New Support Group for Pet Parents with Sick Pets Launches in Seattle
Seattle, WA — January 16, 2025 — Toby’s Hope for Canine Cancer Care, is proud to offer a free weekly support group: Tails of Resilience, the first and only support group dedicated to individuals with sick pets in the greater Seattle area. This unique initiative aims to provide a compassionate community for pet parents dealing with the emotional challenges of caring for a sick animal. Meetings will be held every Tuesday from 4:30-5:30pm PST on Zoom, offering a safe space for participants to share their experiences and find solace among peers.
Caring for a sick pet can be an emotionally taxing experience, often leading to stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation. Tails of Resilience is committed to addressing these mental health challenges by fostering a supportive environment where pet parents can connect, share their stories, and receive empathy and understanding from others facing similar struggles.
“We understand the profound bond between pets and their owners, and the emotional toll it can take when a beloved pet is unwell,” said Suman Kamath, Founder of Toby’s Hope for Canine Cancer Care, a local nonprofit. “Our goal is to create a nurturing community where individuals can find comfort, support, and a sense of belonging during difficult times.”
Participants can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental atmosphere where they can openly discuss their feelings, share coping strategies, and build meaningful connections with others who understand their journey. By joining Tails of Resilience, pet parents can stop feeling isolated and lonely and instead find a network of support and resilience.
Toby’s Hope wants to make our support group accessible to as many people in need as possible. We continue to explore expanding the support to additional days and times.
