Paws for a Cause: What’s Coming in 2025

A huge thank you to everyone that donated to our campaign. We have some offline donations that are not reflected in the total so I’m proud to announce we have not only met, but surpassed our $20,000 goal!

I’m very excited for 2025 and turning our focus from establishing our nonprofit to executing our mission:

  1. Providing Financial Assistance to those in need for canine lymphoma treatment
  2. Providing Caretaker resources

Chemotherapy and other lymphoma treatment is expensive. We needed to put enough in the bank to be able to award grants that will be impactful. Throughout 2025, we’ll continue to find creative ways to raise money, which will go towards treatment funding.

I’ve partnered with PEER Seattle to offer a brand new support group, Tails of Resilience, starting in January 2025 at their office in Capitol Hill in Seattle. Anyone with a sick pet (dog, cat, rabbit, etc.) will be welcome. It’s a free resource. I found while Toby was undergoing chemo, we both were dealing with a series of emotions, side effects, and stress. I couldn’t find others to talk to that had similar experiences. Being a caretaker of a sick animal is hard. I hope this group provides some comfort and helps build a community around those that otherwise feel isolated. Stay tuned for the start date and time. The group will meet weekly. I hope to expand to the group in other locations.

Our board has a few ideas for how we can engage with our community, promote Toby’s Hope, and raise funds to help with lymphoma treatment. We will announce events soon here on the website and our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) for a Virtual Dog Treat baking class, In-person workout/yoga series, and pint/glass nights at local breweries and wineries.

What would you like to see us offer in 2025? We would love to hear from you in our “How to Get Involved” form.

Thank you again to our board, volunteers and all our supporters. You’re invaluable to our future.

Suman
