A Conversation with Suman Kamath: The Mission Behind Toby’s Hope
At Toby’s Hope, we believe no pet should face a life-threatening illness without support, and no pet parent should navigate the journey alone. Recently, our founder, Suman Kamath, sat down for a heartfelt conversation on Puget Sound Now to share the story behind Toby’s Hope and the impact we strive to make.
Why Toby’s Hope Was Created
The nonprofit was born out of a deeply personal experience—one that highlighted the financial and emotional burdens pet parents face when their beloved companions are diagnosed with canine lymphoma. In Washington State, many families struggle to afford the costly treatments necessary to give their dogs a fighting chance. Toby’s Hope was created to provide financial assistance for diagnosis and treatment while also offering much-needed caretaker support.
More Than Financial Assistance: Building a Community of Support
During the podcast, Suman discussed how Toby’s Hope is more than just a financial aid organization. The nonprofit fosters a sense of community, ensuring that caretakers have the emotional and informational resources they need.
